FireDos M2 Fire Monitors Protect Waste Incineration Plant in Macau

Located in Taipa’s Pac On area, the Macau Waste Incineration Plant has been a cornerstone of sustainable waste management in the region since its inception in 1992. Initially equipped with three incinerators, each capable of processing 288 tonnes of solid waste per day, the facility underwent its first capacity expansion in 2008. Now, with the completion of the third construction phase at the end of August 2024, the plant has boosted its capacity by an additional 1,300 tonnes per day, significantly enhancing its waste treatment capabilities. A standout feature of the facility is its ability to efficiently convert the thermal energy generated during the incineration process into electricity, further advancing the city’s goals for sustainable development and energy efficiency.

As part of its efforts to ensure operational safety and efficiency, the plant sought to implement a state-of-the-art fire protection system. Their initial requirement was:
"We are looking for a high-quality, FM-approved, explosion-proof electric fire monitor with control cabinet and wireless remote control, from a reputable and proven brand."

For this project, FireDos collaborated with the local contact Shanghai Vision, through whom the plant obtained state-of-the-art FireDos firefighting monitors.

During the commissioning of the four remote-controlled fire monitors, challenges arose when the customer required on-site service besides the online commissioning training. Ensuring seamless communication and support across different locations was critical for project success. In addition, FireDos was ahead of its delivery schedule to ensure the project ran smoothly.

FireDos delivered a professional six-hour online commissioning training for Shanghai Vision’s technical specialists. The training provided the team with sufficient knowledge and enabled them to be fully prepared for the successful completion of the on-site commissioning. FireDos remained online during the two days of commissioning, providing real-time troubleshooting and expert guidance to ensure a smooth process. Close coordination with the local project partner Shanghai Vision contributed to the successful handling of on-site challenges.
